Helpful Info

Preparing for a photo session does not need be a stressful event.  With a few minutes of careful planning, we can make the most of our time.


Preparation checklist:

  • If you want, bring a photo or magazine of something you like.   
  • Consider your ideal location.  If you can't think of any, ask me.  I have plenty! 
  • Clothes - you don't have to directly match.  As long as everyone is within the same color palette everything should look great.
  • I know it may be difficult, but let the photographer take charge. 
  • If you have an idea, share it!  I love ideas and brainstorming.
  • Have fun!

With children: 

  • Don't let them know they are going to get their picture taken!  Tell them you are taking them to do something fun.  Have them pick out a few toys to bring.     
  • Don't teach them to smile on command.  My goal is to capture their natural expression and smiles that come naturally are the best.
  • Bribery is okay with me! 

With pets:

  • Bring some of their favorite toys. 
  • Dressing them up is your call! 
  • Have a favorite location?  Tell me. 
  • Props - Have a favorite blanket or toy?  Bring them!  I want to make this portrait personal and let your pet's personality shine.
  • PATIENCE - with your pet and me. 

With models:

  • Bring mulitple outfits, if desired.  It'll give both of us more to work with. 
  • I am no makeup artist or hairstylist - please come prepared, primped, & ready to go.
  • Practice some poses in a mirror - don't forget to be natural!
  • If you have an idea of what you are wanting, or a theme, let me know so we can work on it together.  I'm open to pretty much anything.
